Helping Pet Food & Supplement Companies Develop Products That People Never Stop Buying
Here's How VetNutritionLine Product Development Helps You Transform Your Business & Pet Lives
The provided specific knowledge and expertise in pet nutrition and pet health is ideal for companies that want to commercialize truly unique products. This means real value for pet owners, and premium positioning for you. Because when your product is different and superior, you can command higher price points—and keep more of every sale in margin.
When the value of your product is real - and backed by real evidence - conveying that value to your potential customers becomes so much easier. Both referrals and 5-star reviews flow and acquiring new customers ceases to be something you need to worry about.
If your product works like nothing else, pet owners stick around and forgive everything else - even slow delivery or mediocre customer service. If you care about retention and recurrent revenue, product is king. VetNutritionLine evidence-based approch guarantees that you will wear that crown.
Stack premium margins (because you are selling a premium product) on top of rising lifetime customer value (because they continue to buy from you since you overdelivered) and shrinking customer acquisition cost (because of better conversion rates and word of mouth)... and you'll get the ultimate formula for growth. That financial flywheel gives you the cash to scale marketing, expand SKUs, and outpace every competitor in your niche, wheter you are focusing on a local or global scale.

Davide Stefanutti, DVM, PhD
Graduated at University of Padova, Italy, in 2019.
I completed a PhD in Veterinary Science and Food Safety (2020-2024), curriculum Clinical Nutrition, with thesis titled "Sustainable and innovative ingredients in pet nutrition: microalgae and cultivated meat".
After investigating the use of blue-green micro-algae in dogs and cats in Italy, I moved to the Tufts University Center for Cellular Agriculture in Boston, US, to study the potential application of cultivated meat for pet food. Finally I concluded my PhD as a visiting researcher in London at the leading cultivated meat pet food start-up, Meatly.
Simultaneously with my PhD, to specialise in evidence-based clinical nutrition I also trained as a resident at the European College of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition (2022-2024).
Besides being Meatly Veterinary Nutrition Advisor, I am the Team Lead Pet Health of the US-based CRO Citruslabs, which conducts clinical trials to verify the efficacy of pet health products - testing with client-owned pets in the safety of their homes, and never on animals.
I've been doing clinical nutrition consultation for pet owners since the beginning of my PhD.
I am author of several scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals and speaker at international conferences and training courses for veterinarians.
I am a member of the European Society of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition and I am part of the nutritional committee of UK Pet Food.

Because a high-quality outcome is not enough if the service is slow, difficult and unpredictable...
I got you covered: the advantages of working with a Fractional Head of Nutrition / Fractional Chief Vet Officer
(Available under retainer agreement)
Overcome specific challenges using real expertise, fast - because I can focus immediately and solely on the business’ bottom-line needs related to product development.
For the vast majority of pet food and supplement companies, having an in-house PhD or board-certified vet nutritionist is a waste. 80% of their time is spent doing tasks that do not require that level of expertise (and compensation). But since the other 20% is really important stuff, you still need to work with such a professional. The fractional model provides you exactly the type of flexibility you need. You will have a communication line always opened with me for ongoing fast support, but deploy resources towards product development only when you actually need it.
You pay for output, not time. You don’t have to pay my tax, pension, holiday, sickness, etc. You only pay to build a better product… a small investment with massive, asymmetric ROI.
